On 1st June, 2017, GMT Emezue and her team, Dr Arua Omaka, Mrs Ann Nwankwo, Mr Sylvanus Oko and Dr Francis Ofoegbu, successfully organized and hosted the maiden FUNAI Igbo Cultural day festival which was a day that was used for re-asserting and re-affirming some of the positive values for which the Igbo are known.
The event featured news casting in Igbo language, traditional wrestling and traditional dance competitions among the five eastern states. While the language of the day was Igbo, the official dressing style was traditional Igbo attire.
