In partnership with Prof Peter Onwudinjo, who was her lecturer during her undergraduate days at the University of Calabar, GMT Emezue embarked on the Akuko Ofo Series video recording as a way of documenting, preserving, and presenting the rich cultural heritage of the Igbo folktales to future generations. While Prof Peter Onwudinjo narrated the foltales that he remembered, GMT Emezue was able to add some few folktales within the limited time that the first phase of the recordings took.
The project was done with the participation of students from the Theatre Department of Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu Alike Ikwo, Ebonyi State (AE-FUNAI), Nigeria. The scenes were shot in various locations on the AE-FUNAI University campus.
